Rejoice with me ; for I have found the piece which I had lost : LDS answered prayer narratives, 2004.

Jorgensen examines why, and in what context, the stories about prayer and finding lost items are shared. Jorgensen then discusses the elements of the stories themselves, as well as the folkloric sharing of them indicates about the beliefs and religious culture of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Answered prayers, Jorgensen asserts, reveal a belief in the importance of dynamic faithful prayer and a personal God who is concerned with all aspects of human life; a God who will intervene in a person's life.
